Fit the ring, chain and latch set so the gate can hang, swing and latch. Hang your gate on the hinge, check it swings freely and sits level, and adjust the fitting on the post to set the gate height before tightening the bolts. Tips: Set your gate post firmly before hanging the gate so the hinge doesn't drop under the gate's weight. Because it bolts rather than welds, recheck the bolts after the gate has been in use for a few weeks and nip them up if they've settled. The hot-dipped galvanised coating resists corrosion — avoid grinding or drilling it on site so you don't break the galv and start rust.
