Prefabricated Fencing

Stocksafe-T® Longlife Blue®

Features & Benefits

This range has been specifically designed to prevent animals penetrating the fence – either for smaller feral animals or to ensure the hooves of horses are not entangled causing injury.

For Feral Control

Used to provide an effective barrier against feral animals, such as wild dogs, pigs, wallabies and kangaroos.
Rigid knot resists vertical wires from being separated, reducing the chance of feral animals penetrating the fence barrier.
Size and concentration of feral animals will help determine the right fence height, picket spacing and tensile strength, to establish an effective barrier against feral animal incursion.
Comes with extended wire ends (45cm) for joining or tying off – no need to remove pickets.
Also suited to light-pressure applications and domestic house fencing for animals.

For Horses

Designed to keep horses safely contained in a yard or paddock and keep out unwanted animals.
Made from low tensile (soft) 2.50mm top and bottom line wires and line and picket wires, it has good stretch under stock pressure and is manufactured without sharp edges on wire reducing injury to valuable stock.
Low-tensile wire is favoured to reduce potential injury to horses.
Tight 5cm picket spacings reduce the risk of pawing, stepping or walking down the fence.

Unroll the mesh and secure the starting end to your first post with fencing staples or wire ties, ensuring the mesh is plumb and straight. Pull the mesh taut along the fence line using a come-along or winch, keeping even tension so the knots don't distort. Staple or tie off at each post, spacing posts 1.2 to 1.5 metres apart depending on terrain, then trim off excess mesh at the finishing post. Tips: Install on the inside of posts rather than wrapping around them—this keeps animals from pushing the mesh away from the post and puts the knots in compression where they're strongest. Tension the mesh properly from the start; under-tensioned fencing will sag within months and give animals a chance to test it. In hot weather, leave a tiny bit of slack to account for expansion, and check your tension again after the first big rain settles the posts.

Common Questions

What is this fencing designed for?

Stocksafe-T® Longlife is a prefabricated horse fence that keeps horses safely contained in yards or paddocks and keeps out unwanted animals. It's also effective against feral animals like wild dogs, pigs, wallabies and kangaroos.

Why is this fencing good for horses?

The fence is made from low-tensile (soft) wire with no sharp edges, which reduces the risk of injury to valuable stock. The tight 5cm picket spacings reduce the risk of horses pawing, stepping or walking down the fence. Low-tensile wire also has good stretch under pressure, making it safer for horses.

How does this fencing stop feral animals?

The fence has a rigid knot that resists vertical wires from being separated, reducing the chance of feral animals penetrating the barrier. The right fence height, picket spacing and tensile strength will depend on the size and concentration of feral animals in your area.

Does this come ready to install?

Yes, it's prefabricated and comes with extended wire ends (45cm) for joining or tying off. You won't need to remove pickets when joining sections together.
