Apply South Queensland Lime at 1–2 tonnes per hectare based on soil pH test results, ideally before the wet season to allow moisture activation. Spread evenly across paddocks using a lime spreader or fertiliser broadcaster, ensuring thorough coverage. Allow 6–18 months for the lime to fully react with soil and raise pH. Do not apply immediately before or with fertiliser; leave a 2–4 week gap to maximise effectiveness of both products. Tips: Always conduct a soil pH test before application to determine your paddock's baseline and confirm the required rate. Apply lime in late spring or early autumn to take advantage of winter or summer rainfall, which speeds reaction time. Combine lime application with a balanced phosphorus and nitrogen program for best results in establishing productive pastures.
