Apply South Queensland Aglime at 1–2 tonnes per hectare based on soil test results, ideally before the wet season to allow moisture activation. Spread evenly across paddocks using a lime spreader or truck-mounted broadcaster for uniform coverage. Allow 6–18 months for the lime to fully react and raise soil pH, particularly in acidic SE Queensland soils. Use in conjunction with a balanced phosphorus and nitrogen fertiliser program for best results. Tips: Always conduct a soil pH test before application to determine your current pH and target rate; SE Queensland pastures perform best at pH 6.0–6.5. Apply lime several weeks before adding phosphate or nitrogen fertilisers to maximise nutrient availability and avoid nutrient lock-up. Wet conditions accelerate lime reaction, so plan application for spring or early summer when rainfall is forecast.
