Symptoms of molybdenum deficiency
- Older leaves show interveinal yellowing (chlorosis).
- Leaf margins may curl or develop necrotic spots.
- Legumes show weak nodulation.
- Brassicas may have crinkled or necrotic leaves.
- Common in acidic or sandy soils with low organic matter.
Caution
Excessive molybdenum can be harmful to stock: do not apply fertiliser containing molybdenum on more than 25% of farm annually. Do not graze for four weeks after application.

What rate do I use?
Annual crops (general rate): 50-100 g/100L, applied in sufficient water to wet foliage, early in crop life. Seedlings: 40 g/100L, prior to transplanting. Hydroponics: 7g per 1000L of water gives 2.5ppm. One spray per crop is generally sufficient, except where deficiency is noted; brassicas and cucurbits may require two sprays three weeks apart.
Is it safe around livestock?
