Common Questions
What size is this silage cover?
This roll is 15 metres wide and 50 metres long, in super heavy duty thickness. That's a decent size for most pit operations — just check your pit dimensions before ordering to make sure it'll cover you.
Which way up does the cover go on the pit?
Place it with the black layer facing down and white layer facing up. The white side reflects sunlight and heat away from the silage, which helps reduce pit fires and stops mould and spoilage underneath the cover.
How do I apply it properly?
After rolling and compacting your silage, force out as much air as possible from the pit to create an airtight seal. Then firmly secure all edges of the cover to stop it moving around in storms and strong winds.
Will this cover last in the Australian sun?
Yes — it's fully UV stabilised and comes with a 12 month guarantee against UV damage. It's made with multi-layer polyethylene technology and designed to handle harsh Australian conditions.
