Target Weeds
Salve (aminopyralid + metsulfuron-methyl) controls a broad spectrum of woody and broadleaf weeds in pastures, winter cereals and non-crop areas, including variegated and saffron thistles, Paterson's curse, docks, blackberry, Mimosa pigra and other listed woody weeds. It will also damage or remove clovers, medics and lucerne. Consult the product label to confirm registered weeds and situations in your region.
Salve Herbicide is a water-dispersible granule containing 375 g/kg aminopyralid and 300 g/kg metsulfuron-methyl (Group 4 + Group 2/B), absorbed through foliage and roots and translocated throughout the plant for control of woody weeds and broadleaf weeds in winter cereals, pastures, non-agricultural, commercial/industrial areas and rights-of-way. Rates are weed- and method-specific on the registered label: hand-gun high-volume spraying is typically 20 g per 100 L of water (up to 40 g/100 L for some weeds); boom and aerial rates range from 10 g/ha up to 320 g/ha depending on the weed and growth stage; gas gun 20 g/100 L with penetrant. Add the granules to a half-filled tank with agitation, top up, and use only the surfactants named on the label; do not store the suspension for more than 1 day. Apply to actively growing weeds not under stress; do not spray foliage wet from rain or dew; do not treat newly sown pastures; do not apply more than one application per season; do not apply to blackberry bearing mature fruit. Withholding periods: cereals – do not graze or cut for 21 days; pastures – do not graze or cut for 56 days (milk: 3 days). Aminopyralid residues persist in treated plant material and manure – do not send treated crops off-farm as hay, silage or bedding, do not use manure or compost from treated areas on susceptible broadleaf plants, and note that legumes in pasture will be damaged. Refer to the registered label for rates and recropping intervals.

Tips for Best Results
- Apply to young, actively growing weeds: larger or stressed weeds are harder to control; only one application per season is permitted.
- Use the label surfactant and clean water: mix fresh and do not hold the suspension more than a day.
- Protect susceptible crops and pastures: both actives are highly active on legumes, vegetables, vines and ornamentals – keep drift away and do not sow legumes into treated paddocks until the label plant-back period has passed.
- Resistance management: rotate Group 4 and Group 2 modes of action with other groups.
- Compost and fodder caution: aminopyralid persists in hay, silage, manure and compost from treated areas – do not use them on sensitive plants.
Always read the label and follow directions for use. The registered label is the legal document governing use of this product.
