Slip the ring fastener onto your fencing wire, then position the plier jaws around both the ring and wire. Squeeze the handles firmly until the ring compresses and locks permanently onto the wire. Release and slide the plier back out—the fastener won't budge after that. Works best on smooth wire; rough or rusty wire may need a bit more pressure to seat properly. Tips: Keep your plier jaws clean and free of dirt between uses, otherwise the ring won't compress evenly and you'll get weak fasteners that slip under tension.
