Laucke Mills Red Hen Se17enteen (Red Hen 17) is a premium-quality, complete layer and breeder feed designed for laying poultry. It is formulated to provide the protein, energy, vitamins and minerals required to support high rates of egg production, good egg size, fertility and hatchability.

No Grind Crumble

One of the distinctive features of Red Hen 17 is its No Grind Crumble presentation. Rather than finely grinding all of the ingredients, the feed retains larger grain particles within the crumble.

This is designed to:

• Reduce selective feeding, where birds pick out preferred ingredients.
• Provide a particle size that hens readily consume.
• Encourage the gizzard to work harder when processing the larger grain particles.
• Help stimulate enzyme secretion and support digestion.

Ingredients

Red Hen 17 is formulated from a selection of grains, pulses and protein sources including wheat, triticale, barley, oats, peas, lupins, lentils, beans, soybean, canola and sunflower products. It also contains ingredients such as meatmeal, blood meal, fat, limestone, dicalcium phosphate, sodium bicarbonate, potassium carbonate, bentonite, salt and essential amino acids including lysine, methionine, threonine, tryptophan, isoleucine and valine. Natural egg-yolk pigments and enzymes are also included.

The vitamin package includes A, D3, E, K and B-group vitamins, together with choline. Minerals include calcium, phosphorus, potassium, sodium, chloride, cobalt, copper, iodine, iron, manganese, molybdenum, selenium and zinc.

Which birds is it suitable for?

Laucke's feeding recommendations list Red Hen 17 from point of lay for:

• Laying chickens
• Breeding chickens
• Turkeys intended for laying or breeding
• Ducks and geese intended for laying or breeding
• Gamebirds intended for laying or breeding, including quail, pheasants, peacocks, guinea fowl and partridge.

For chickens being raised for egg production, Laucke recommends Chick Starter from day-old to around 6 weeks, followed by a pullet grower until point of lay, and then a quality layer feed such as Red Hen 17.

Feeding

Red Hen 17 should be provided according to Laucke Mills' Red Hen feeding recommendations, with clean, fresh water available at all times. It is intended as a complete diet, so additional grain or supplements should not normally be necessary unless there is a specific reason to provide them.
