Run the lead from your energiser to the fence line, either above ground along a post or buried underground if crossing paddocks or under gates. If burying, lay it in a conduit or at least 150mm deep to protect from stock hooves and cultivation. Connect one end to the energiser output terminal and the other to the fence line using the clip provided, making sure connections are tight and free of corrosion. Tips: Keep the lead as straight as possible and away from metal objects, wet grass, or damp soil when running above ground, as these all steal energy from your fence. If you're running it under a gate, always use proper conduit protection rather than just burying it loose—gates get driven over and you'll lose the cable to damage. Check your connections every few months, especially after rain, as corrosion at the clip will drop your voltage faster than a hole in the fence.
