Thunderbird Red Earth Lead EF-172 is a replacement red earth lead for Thunderbird electric fence energisers.

It is an insulated clip with a ring end for energiser terminals.

The red lead is the FENCE (live) lead. Connect the ring end to the fence (red) terminal on your Thunderbird energiser, and use the insulated clip on the other end to connect to the fence line. Keep the connection tight and free of corrosion. Always switch the energiser OFF before connecting or disconnecting leads. Use a fence voltage tester or fault finder to confirm the fence is live and to locate faults — never test the fence by touching it. Tips: Keep the lead away from metal objects, wet grass and damp soil where it runs above ground, as these steal energy from the fence.
