Position the 5000L tank on level, well-drained ground in a location that provides partial shade to reduce algae growth and water heating. Install a float valve to automatically maintain water level and prevent overflow. Ensure the tank is easily accessible to your livestock and positioned away from feed areas to prevent contamination. Connect water supply via inlet fitting and check all connections are secure before filling. Tips: Place the tank in a sheltered spot with afternoon shade to keep water cooler during Queensland summers, as cattle consumption can nearly double with every 10°C temperature rise. Clean the tank monthly and disinfect periodically to control algae buildup, which is more common in warm conditions.
