Position the tank centrally to your grazing area, allowing 0.75m of trough face space per dairy cow or adjust based on herd composition and water consumption rates. Tips: In Queensland summer, monitor water levels daily as cattle consumption can reach 100L per head per day—lactating cows drink 30% more than dry stock. Clean the trough monthly and disinfect periodically to control algae; the poly construction is UV-stabilised and easier to maintain than concrete alternatives.
