Install the 3000L Rapidplas tank on level, well-drained ground with partial shade to minimise algae growth and water temperature rise. Fit a float valve to the inlet to prevent overflow and maintain consistent water levels. Before first use, rinse thoroughly with fresh water. Connect to your rainwater collection system or water supply using appropriate fittings, ensuring all connections are secure and leak-free. Tips: Position the trough to provide at least 0.75m of face space per cow in dairy operations, and allow adequate space around the tank for easy cleaning and stock access. Install in a location with afternoon shade and good drainage to keep water cooler during Queensland summers and prevent waterlogging. Clean the tank monthly to remove algae buildup, and disinfect periodically—poly troughs are far easier to maintain than concrete alternatives.
