Position the 2200L Heritage Green tank on flat, well-drained ground in a location that receives partial shade to minimize algae growth and water heating. Install a float valve to prevent overflow and ensure consistent water levels. Connect to your rainwater collection system or fill via hose, ensuring all inlet connections are secure. Place the trough in an accessible location where livestock can safely approach from at least 0.75m of trough face space per animal in dairy operations. Tips: Clean the trough monthly to remove algae buildup, especially during Queensland's warmer months when water consumption and algae growth increase significantly. Position the tank where it can be easily relocated for rotational grazing practices, taking advantage of poly's portability compared to concrete alternatives. In summer, ensure adequate shade and monitor water levels daily, as cattle can drink up to 100L per day in hot weather.
