Position the 5000L SlimLine tank on level, well-drained ground in a location with partial shade to minimise algae growth and water temperature fluctuations. Install a float valve to automatically maintain water level and prevent overflow. Ensure the trough is easily accessible to your livestock and positioned away from contamination sources such as feed areas or animal shelter runoff. Connect to your rainwater system or mains water supply following local plumbing codes. Tips: Clean the trough monthly to remove algae buildup, especially during Queensland's warmer months when water consumption and algae growth both increase significantly. Use the trough's lightweight, relocatable design to your advantage by moving it between paddocks for rotational grazing, which helps distribute nutrients and reduce ground damage. Monitor water levels closely during summer when cattle may drink up to 100L per day in high temperatures.
