Position the 3000L slimline tank on level, well-drained ground with partial shade to minimise algae growth and water heating. Install a float valve to automatically maintain water levels and prevent overflow. Connect to your rainwater collection system or water supply via the inlet, ensuring all connections are secure and food-grade. Clean the trough monthly and disinfect periodically to maintain water quality for your livestock. Tips: Place the tank in a sheltered location away from direct all-day sun to reduce algae blooms and keep water cooler during Queensland summers. In hot weather, monitor water levels daily as cattle consumption can reach 100L per animal per day in peak summer conditions. Position the trough to provide adequate access—aim for 0.75m of trough face space per cow in dairy operations.
