Install the RAINWATER LOW PROFILE TANK 5000LT on level, well-drained ground with partial shade protection to minimise algae growth and water temperature fluctuations. Position the tank to allow easy access for livestock and cleaning, maintaining at least 0.75m of trough face space per cow for dairy operations. Connect a float valve to the tank inlet to automatically maintain water levels and prevent overflow. Ensure the tank is secure and stable before allowing livestock access. Tips: In Queensland's hot climate, provide extra water capacity during summer months—cattle can drink up to 100L per day in peak heat, nearly double their cool-weather intake. Position the tank in partial shade and clean monthly to remove algae buildup, which thrives in warm, sunny conditions. Consider installing a float valve regulator to maintain consistent water levels and improve water quality throughout the day.
