Position the 5100L tank on flat, well-drained ground in a location with partial shade to minimise algae growth and water heating. Install a float valve to automatically maintain water levels and prevent overflow. Ensure adequate trough face space of 0.75m per cow for dairy operations, or space multiple troughs appropriately for your herd size. Connect to your rainwater collection system or top up as needed, and establish a monthly cleaning routine to remove sediment and algae buildup. Tips: Place the tank where cattle can access it easily but where it won't become a muddy wallow—consider using a small platform or slightly elevated area for better drainage around the trough. In Queensland summer, monitor water levels daily as cattle consumption can reach 100L per day in hot weather, and provide shade cloth or position near trees to keep water cooler and reduce algae growth. Clean the trough monthly with a brush and disinfect periodically to maintain water quality, especially during warm months when algae develops quickly.

It has 2 BSP outlets positioned at 3 & 9 o'clock. Each outlet is 1 1/2" with a 1 1/2" ball valve included.
