This electrically heated 240 volt knife is the most convenient solution for uncapping frames of honeycomb.
The knives are calibrated to run around 290 °F. (143°C).
During initial preheating period knives will reach a higher temperature until it reaches its equilibrium.
Knives are not designed to adjust in the field and we do not recommend any adjustments.
However if adjustment is required please call us for assistance.
Lowest temperature to be recommend is 250 °F. (121°C) Highest 330°F. (165°C).
At high temperature uncapping has to be done fast.
Otherwise honey will start to burn.
Plug the knife into a 240 volt power outlet and allow it to heat to operating temperature before running the blade along capped honeycomb to slice off the wax cappings. Always handle with care as the blade gets hot, and disconnect power when not in use.
