This product was featured on the ABC program "the Inventors" in late 2007.
A solution of vegetable oil and 1 teaspoon of vinegar is placed in the tray.
The beetle is attracted through the grid (which stops the bees) and they drown in the oil.
Mix vegetable oil with around 1 teaspoon of vinegar and place the solution in the trap reservoir, then position the trap inside the hive. Small hive beetles are attracted to the bait, fall in, and drown in the oil mixture; check and refresh the solution periodically.
