Drive the fibreglass post into the ground using a post driver, pushing it straight down to leave about 1.5m above ground level. Attach your electric wire or tape to the insulators on the post using appropriate clips or connectors, ensuring the wire sits firmly in the insulator grooves. Check that the post is vertical and won't rock in the ground, as movement will damage the fibreglass over time. Tips: Don't use a hammer directly on fibreglass posts—always use a proper post driver as direct impact will crack and splinter them. Leave the post slightly proud of the ground rather than driving it flush, as this helps with drainage and reduces rot risk in wet seasons. Keep posts away from permanent fence lines and gates where livestock pressure is heaviest, as fibreglass won't stand up to repeated contact like timber.
