Install the sliding gate between your two gate posts, fitting the roller wheels into the track rail at the top of the installation. Ensure the track is level and properly tensioned before sliding the gate into place. Adjust wheel tension so the gate slides smoothly without wobbling. Fit a reliable catch or latch on the open end to hold the gate shut against animal pressure. Test the sliding action fully before introducing stock. Tips: Keep the track rail clean of mud, manure, and debris — even small buildup will make the gate hard to slide and eventually seize the rollers. Lubricate the rollers and track with a light grease or spray oil every few months to keep operation smooth. Position the gate so it slides open away from the direction of stock flow to reduce the chance of animals crowding against it when it's half-open.
