The hexagonal body makes them extremely simple to install. Importantly, Philmac threaded fittings are suitable for working pressures up to PN16 for sizes up to 2”, PN12 for 2-1/2” and PN10 for 3” and 4” sized fittings.

Smart hexagonal design makes the fittings compatible with tools and ensures that Philmac BSP threaded fittings are extremely easy to install.

This 2" (50mm) BSP plug end is designed to seal the end of rural poly pipe in farm water systems. Simply push the fitting firmly onto the barbed end of your poly pipe until it seats fully, then secure with two stainless steel hose clamps — one near the barb and one further back on the pipe. Ensure the pipe end is clean and cut square before insertion. Tighten clamps evenly with a screwdriver until snug; do not over-tighten as this can damage the fitting. Tips: Always use stainless steel clamps with barb fittings to prevent corrosion in rural Queensland conditions. For a more permanent seal, consider solvent weld fittings instead of barb fittings if the joint will not need disconnecting. Cut poly pipe ends cleanly with a sharp knife or pipe cutter and allow any rough edges to smooth slightly before pushing onto the barb.
