The hexagonal body makes them extremely simple to install. Importantly, Philmac threaded fittings are suitable for working pressures up to PN16 for sizes up to 2”, PN12 for 2-1/2” and PN10 for 3” and 4” sized fittings.

Screw the BSP 1" (25mm) plug end onto the threaded connection point by hand first, then use two spanners (one on the fitting body, one on the pipe thread) to tighten securely — do not over-tighten as this can crack the fitting. Wrap thread tape (PTFE/plumber's tape) around the male threads 3-4 times clockwise before installation to create a watertight seal. Ensure the pipe end is clean and free of debris before connecting. Test the system at operating pressure to confirm there are no leaks around the threaded joint. Tips: Install the plug end on a dead-end or capped section of your poly pipe line to seal unused threaded ports and prevent contamination.
