Philmac’s threaded fittings provide maximum versatility, delivering a high performance connection across a wide range of pressure ratings and chemical combinations.

The hexagonal body makes them extremely simple to install. Importantly, Philmac threaded fittings are suitable for working pressures up to PN16 for sizes up to 2”, PN12 for 2-1/2” and PN10 for 3” and 4” sized fittings.

Smart hexagonal design makes the fittings compatible with tools and ensures that Philmac BSP threaded fittings are extremely easy to install.

The material also has a high degree of UV resistance to ensure long term performance even in direct sunlight.

Insert the barb end of the fitting into the poly pipe until it sits firmly against the shoulder of the fitting. Slide a stainless steel hose clamp over the pipe and barb connection, positioning it approximately 10-15mm from the end of the pipe. Tighten the clamp securely using a screwdriver or impact driver until snug, ensuring the clamp is evenly seated. Do not over-tighten as this may damage the poly pipe or fitting. Tips: For a more secure seal on critical connections, apply two clamps—one near the barb shoulder and another 20-30mm further along the pipe. Always use genuine stainless steel clamps to prevent corrosion in rural Queensland conditions; galvanised clamps will rust and fail over time. If disconnecting the fitting later, carefully cut the poly pipe with a sharp knife or pipe cutter rather than forcing the fitting off, as this preserves both the fitting and pipe for reuse.
