Tread the post into the ground by foot using the pointed tread-in base — no post driver, maul or other tools are needed. Push it in until firm so it won't shift under animal pressure. Clip your electric wire, polywire or tape into the post's moulded insulator slots, making sure each wire seats securely. Space posts to suit your layout, typically 2-3 metres apart for most temporary and rotational-grazing setups. Tips: Check that posts are sitting absolutely plumb before connecting wires — a wonky post will cause your wires to sag or drop out of the slots. Keep grass and weeds cleared around the base of each post so they don't short-circuit your fence by creating a conductive path to earth. The white polymer body is UV-resistant, but replace any post whose slots have become cracked or brittle so it keeps holding wire securely.
