Sow Tom Grady Winter Cover Crop Mix during autumn (March-May) in SE Queensland for optimal establishment before winter growth. Prepare a firm, weed-free seedbed by cultivating to 50mm depth and rolling to create good seed-to-soil contact. Sow at 15-20 kg/ha at a depth of 5-10mm, either by broadcast or direct drill method. Ensure adequate moisture during germination and manage grazing in the first year to allow root establishment and encourage tillering. Tips: Roll after sowing to improve seed contact with soil. Avoid sowing into waterlogged conditions. This mix performs best with adequate spring rainfall. Consider frost risk in higher altitude areas of SE Queensland.
