PER KG RHODES GRASS RECLAIMER COATED SEED (20KG) AUSWEST RCM1B20
Reclaimer Rhodes Grass is an extremely palatable, spreading, perennial sub-tropical grass. Ideally suited to cultivation in tropical and subtropical areas, it can be used as green chop or hay. Reclaimer Rhodes Grass grown under irrigation can provide excellent dry matter yields of up to 2 tonnes per cut.
Reclaimer is early maturing, erect, warm season, highly stoloniferous perennial Rhodes grass that has retained the attributes of Fine cut but with increased stolon density and number of growing points giving increased plant recruitment that will form a dense mat over the ground more rapidly than other varieties.
Because of its strong creeping habit Reclaimer binds the soils, providing good erosion control. In addition Reclaimer has increased dry matter production, (up to 20% over Katambora), with early uniform flowering, and dense growth once established.
Bred for increased production in saline areas. Trials have indicated that established Reclaimer Rhodes will remain productive in saline conditions of between 4 to 10 deci Siemens, (dS/m), per meter and could survive in conditions up to 20 dS/m. As an establishing plant Reclaimer may struggle to establish where sown into areas that are affected with surface salt.

Common Questions
What is Reclaimer Rhodes Grass and what's it used for?
Reclaimer Rhodes Grass is an extremely palatable, spreading perennial sub-tropical grass. It's ideally suited to tropical and subtropical areas and can be used as green chop or hay. It's also suited to silage, grazing and hay enterprises.
What makes Reclaimer different from other Rhodes grass varieties?
Reclaimer is early maturing with increased stolon density and more growing points than other varieties, which helps it form a dense mat over the ground more rapidly. It has up to 20% increased dry matter production compared to Katambora, along with early uniform flowering and dense growth once established. Its strong creeping habit also provides good erosion control by binding soils.
Can Reclaimer Rhodes Grass handle salty soils?
Yes, Reclaimer was bred for increased production in saline areas. Established plants can remain productive in saline conditions between 4 to 10 deci Siemens per meter and could survive in conditions up to 20 dS/m. However, as an establishing plant it may struggle to establish where sown into areas affected with surface salt.
What seeding rate should I use?
For dryland, use 6–15 kg/ha. For irrigated, use 20–35 kg/ha. Always follow the seeding rate guidelines on your seed bag for best results.
What are the main advantages of this grass?
Reclaimer offers excellent water use efficiency, is highly palatable, contains no oxalate or prussic acid, has fine leaf and stems, and is suited to a wide range of soil types. It's also suitable for silage, grazing and hay enterprises, and provides high salt tolerance.
