Sow Haifa white clover at 2–4 kg/ha during autumn (March–May) or spring (August–September) in SE Queensland. Ensure seed is inoculated with Group B Rhizobium before sowing. Sow at a maximum depth of 5–10 mm into a firm, weed-free seedbed; do not sow too deep as seeds are very small. For best results, pair with perennial ryegrass or fescue, or oversow into subtropical grass pastures (avoid vigorous summer grasses that will shade out the clover). Tips: Haifa performs best on fertile, well-drained loams with a soil pH of 5.5–7.0 and suits properties with 750 mm+ annual rainfall or irrigation. White clover is a high bloat-risk legume—manage this critical risk by introducing cattle gradually to clover pastures, avoiding grazing when pasture is wet, frosted, or wilted, maintaining pasture height above 10 cm, and using bloat prevention products when necessary.
