ORANGE OIL 5LT TREATMENT OF AQUATIC TECH WEEDS E.G. AZOLLA DUCKWEED
Orange Oil Aquatic Weed Treatment is a natural, orange oil based, non toxic solution designed to reduce the surface tension of water and cause free floating aquatic weeds and debris to lose buoyancy and sink, effectively clearing water surfaces. It is suitable for use in farm dams, ponds, lakes, and other still water bodies where floating weed mats are a problem. It does not control submerged or rooted aquatic vegetation.
Pack Sizes
• 1Litre
• 2Litre
• 5Litre
Each pack contains the same active natural orange oil formulation at equal strength; larger pack sizes are for treating greater surface areas.
Key Features
• Natural Active: Based on orange oil - biodegradable and environmentally friendly
• Targets Floating Weeds: Effective against floating aquatic weeds such as duckweed, Azolla, Salvinia and other surface mats
• Non Toxic: Safe for humans, livestock, pets, fish, and wildlife when used as directed
• No Withholding Period: Water can be used immediately after application for irrigation, recreation, or livestock water
• Environmentally Responsible: Breaks down naturally without harmful residues
• Easy to Use: Dilute and spray directly onto floating weed mats
How It Works
Orange Oil works by reducing the surface tension of the water around floating weeds. This causes free floating mats to lose buoyancy and sink, clearing the surface of the waterbody without injuring aquatic life. It does not affect submerged weeds or algae.
Applications
Suitable For:
• Farm dams and irrigation water bodies
• Ponds and lakes
• Recreational water bodies
• Water management lagoons
• Any still water receiving surface weed pressure
Not Suitable For:
• Flowing streams, rivers, or waterways

• Control of submerged aquatic weeds or algae
Mixing & Application Guidelines
Mix Orange Oil into water for spraying using common spray equipment such as a knapsack, backpack sprayer, or freshwater tank sprayer.
Example Mixing Rates (general guide):
• 1L pack: Treats up to 500m² of water surface coverage
• 2L pack: Treats up to 1000m² of water surface
• 5L pack: Treats up to 2500m² of water surface
Spray Mix:
• Dilute 1 part Orange Oil with up to 100 parts water for spraying onto floating weed mats.
• Apply evenly over floating weed area.
• For dense mats, repeat applications on days 1, 2, and 4 for best results.
Apply when surface water is calm (no wind), and avoid spraying into subscribed or rooted vegetation.
Safety & Handling
