OMYA CALCIPRILL LIME 1 TON BAG 178736 at a glance

Omya Calciprill is a 2-6 mm prill made from very finely ground high purity calcium carbonate. It can be applied to established pastures or crops at any time and is ideal for rapid pH adjustment. Omya Calciprill is highly reactive and equally effective at rates 80-90% lower than required by standard aglime. The rounded prills mean it can be applied, on its own or with additional fertilizer & seeds, by anyone with standard fertilizer spreaders.

Why consider using Omya Calciprill:

Rapid pH improvement means rapid crop response
Flexible application means less dependence on weather conditions
Useful in precision agriculture
Can be applied by air to steep terrain allowing utilization of all pasture
Excellent source of calcium, an essential nutrient in plant cell structure
Allows farmers to carry out regular soil maintenance.

Apply OMYA CALCIPRILL LIME at 1–2 tonnes per hectare based on soil pH test results, ideally targeting pH 6.0–6.5 for SE Queensland pastures and legumes. Spread evenly across the paddock using a lime spreader or similar equipment. Apply before the wet season to allow moisture to activate the lime and begin pH correction. Allow 6–18 months for full effect, particularly in acidic soils. Tips: Always conduct a soil pH test before application to determine the correct rate for your paddock — applying blindly may lead to over- or under-liming. Lime reacts slowly in dry conditions, so avoid application during drought; autumn or early winter application gives best results before spring rains. Do not apply lime and phosphate fertiliser simultaneously; leave a 2–3 week gap to prevent nutrient lock-up.
