Do I need to treat the mesh before using it in an aviary?
It is recommended that new galvanised mesh used in aviaries and pet cages be treated to remove excess zinc. Shave off any zinc spikes with a utility knife, scrub with a mild solution of vinegar (2 cups in a bucket of water) and rinse with clean water.
