LONGLIFE WIRE 4.00MM X 500M PLAIN WIRE ONESTEEL WARATAH 140865 at a glance

Waratah Low Tensile Longlife Blue Fence Wire is a soft wire suitable for most conventional fencing applications.

More effective in fire-prone areas due to lower carbon content.

Ideal for use in traditional fencing systems with closely spaced posts.

Can be used to join line of barbed wire to strainer post.

Specifications:

Diameter: 4.0mm
Breaking Strain: 4.8kN
Recommended Tension: 1.8kN
Coil Length: 500m

Unroll the wire and run it along your fence line at the height you need—this 4mm works well for either top or bottom strand depending on your setup. Pull it reasonably tight with a strainer or come-along, then secure it to your posts using wire clips or by wrapping and twisting around the post. Cut off what you need and twist the end back on itself a couple of turns so it won't unravel or catch on stock. Tips: Don't over-tension plain wire or you'll snap it when the ground shifts or a beast leans on it—firm and straight is better than guitar-string tight. Keep a few twists in your joining knots rather than just one, and make sure they're neat so they won't catch fleece or hides. Check your line after heavy rain or when temperatures swing, as wire can shift and loosen up.
