LOAD RATED D SHACKLES 10MM GALVANISED ROTECH DS10R
The load rated D-shackles are perfect for supporting a heavy load.
Rotech D shackles are perfect for heavy lifting and static systems where a reliable strong D-shackle is needed.
Each load rated screw pin shackle comes with a galvanised steel body and yellow screw pin.
They can be used the same as regular D-shackles however, the rating means you know how much load they will safely be able to handle.
How To Choose the correct D-Shackle:
A D-shackle is a great option if you want to attach your chain to other objects. However, you will want to make sure you pick the right D-shackle for your chain.
When choosing a D-shackle, you will need to find out the inside width of the chain link.
The pin of the D-shackle will need to be smaller than this width in order for it to fit through your chain link.
To find the inside width of the chain, simply subtract 2x the chain link diameter from the total width.
For example, here is how you would calculate the inside width of an 8mm chain:
27mm (width) – 2 x 8mm (diameter) = 11mm (inside width)
In this example, the inside width of an 8mm chain is 11mm.
This means you would want to get a D-shackle with a pin diameter (Ø) of 10mm or less.
(An 11mm pin might be too tight a fit).
Common Questions
What are these D-shackles used for?
These load rated D-shackles are designed for heavy lifting and static systems where you need a strong, reliable connection. They're perfect for attaching chain to other objects and supporting heavy loads.
How do I know if a 10mm shackle will fit my chain?
You need to work out the inside width of your chain link. Measure the total width of the chain link and subtract 2 times the chain link diameter. The pin of the shackle needs to be smaller than this inside width to fit through. For example, an 8mm chain with 27mm total width would have an inside width of 11mm (27mm – 2 × 8mm = 11mm), so a 10mm pin would fit. A pin that's too close to the inside width might be too tight a fit.
What's the D-shackle made from?
The shackle has a galvanised steel body and a yellow screw pin. The galvanised finish helps protect it from corrosion.
What makes these load rated shackles different from regular ones?
These shackles are load rated, which means you know the safe working load they can handle. You can use them the same way as regular D-shackles, but with the confidence of knowing exactly how much load they'll safely support.
