Wood Post Live Tip Offsets are used in offset or retrofit electric fencing, an economical and easy to install option if you have an existing or new fence.

Drive the post into the ground using a post rammer or sledgehammer until it's seated firmly, leaving the offset insulator arm at a comfortable working height for attaching your live wire. Slide the live tip lockset onto the arm and tighten the set screw securely so the wire won't slip under tension. Thread your electric fencing wire through the lockset and tighten it firmly, making sure there's no play in the connection. Test the circuit with a fence tester before turning on your energiser to confirm everything's working properly. Tips: Get your posts perfectly vertical when driving them in — a wobbly post will put stress on the insulator arm and you'll have trouble keeping consistent wire height across your fence line. Clean any dirt or corrosion off the lockset contact point before tightening your wire, as a poor connection will lose voltage and weaken your fence. In Queensland heat, check your lockset tightness every few weeks during summer as metal expands and can loosen the grip on your wire.
