Kohnke's Own Mag-E is a nutritional calming supplement formulated for horses and ponies that are nervous, anxious, tense, spooky, excitable or easily distracted. It is designed to help promote a calmer, more relaxed and focused horse without causing sedation or dulling performance.

What is Mag-E?

Mag-E combines several nutrients intended to support normal nerve and muscle function, with the main component being magnesium supplied predominantly as a protein-coated organic magnesium chelate. Kohnke’s Own says this form is designed for improved digestive absorption compared with common magnesium sources such as magnesium oxide, chloride and sulfate.

The formula also contains:

  • Magnesium — supports normal nerve and muscle function.

  • Vitamin E — supports normal nerve and muscle function and provides antioxidant activity.

  • Vitamin B1 (thiamine) — included for additional nutritional support of normal nervous-system function.

  • Natural yeasts and other synergistic ingredients — included as part of the formula and intended to provide digestive/stomach support.

  • Vanilla flavouring — makes the powder more palatable and easier to feed.

What horses may benefit from Mag-E?

It is particularly intended for horses that:

  • Are naturally nervous or anxious.

  • Become spooky or fizzy.

  • Get tense during training.

  • Become unsettled when travelling.

  • Have difficulty concentrating at shows or competitions.

Feeding directions: Each level scoop of Mag-E provides approximately 15 g. According to the current Kohnke's Own directions: - Ponies (under 400 kg): 10 g daily. - Horses (400-600 kg): 15 g daily (one level scoop). - Large horses (over 600 kg): up to 30 g daily. When first introducing Mag-E, a higher loading amount of 30-45 g per day for the first 5-7 days may be fed before reducing to the normal maintenance rate. Fresh, clean drinking water should always be available.
