JOINER SOCKET BSP 3/4" (20mm) PHILMAC 90432200

This is a straight BSP threaded joiner socket (female thread both ends) that connects two 3/4" (20mm) BSP male-threaded components in line. It is not an elbow and has no barb. 1. Check that both mating male threads are clean, undamaged and the correct 3/4" (20mm) BSP size. 2. Wrap 3-4 layers of PTFE thread tape clockwise around each male thread to help seal the joint. 3. Hand-thread a male fitting into each end of the socket, then grip the hexagonal body with a spanner or adjustable wrench and tighten firmly - usually one to two further turns past hand-tight. Do not over-tighten, as excessive force can split the fitting. 4. Repeat for the second connection, keeping the components aligned so the joint is not cross-threaded. 5. Pressurise and check for leaks before backfilling or leaving the line unattended. Tips: The socket is moulded from high-performance, UV-resistant polypropylene, is approved for potable water to AS/NZS 4020, and is rated to Philmac's threaded-fitting working pressure of PN16 for sizes up to 2". Use PTFE tape rather than liquid sealants for a clean, reliable BSP seal. To change pipe direction or connect poly pipe, use the matching elbow or barbed/compression fitting - this socket only joins two BSP male threads in line.
