Philmac’s threaded fittings provide maximum versatility, delivering a high performance connection across a wide range of pressure ratings and chemical combinations.

The hexagonal body makes them extremely simple to install. Importantly, Philmac threaded fittings are suitable for working pressures up to PN16 for sizes up to 2”, PN12 for 2-1/2” and PN10 for 3” and 4” sized fittings.

Smart hexagonal design makes the fittings compatible with tools and ensures that Philmac BSP threaded fittings are extremely easy to install.

The material also has a high degree of UV resistance to ensure long term performance even in direct sunlight.

Insert the 3/4" BSP male thread into your water system connection point, wrapping 3-4 layers of PTFE tape around the thread in a clockwise direction to ensure a watertight seal. Tighten firmly by hand, then use an adjustable wrench to secure an additional half-turn — do not over-tighten as this may crack the fitting. The 90° elbow angle allows you to change pipe direction smoothly within your poly pipe run. Ensure the poly pipe (green stripe, 800kPa rated) is cut cleanly and inserted fully into the barbed end before securing with stainless steel clamps. Tips: Always use stainless steel clamps with barb connections to prevent corrosion and ensure a long-lasting seal in rural Queensland conditions. Test your system at normal operating pressure before burying pipes or finalizing connections to confirm no leaks occur at threaded joints. For gravity-fed systems, 3/4" fittings work well; if upgrading to pump-fed systems, consider 1.25" or larger for improved flow rates.
