JOINER RURAL REDUCER POLY 1 1/4" (32mm) X 1" (25mm) PHILMAC 99814300 at a glance

Philmac Rural can be easily disassembled and reconnected simply by loosening the nut and taking the insert out of the body of the fitting.

The pipe can then be freed.

Philmac Rural inserts are self aligning.

Simply bring the insert into the body of the fitting and then tighten the nut with a wrench.

As the nut tightens it will draw the insert into the body of the fitting to create the perfect seal every time.

The flat face of the insert allows the installer to tap it into the pipe with ease.

Because the insert does not need to pass over a seal there is no risk of damaging the seal during installation.

Philmac Rural has been a market leader in Australia for over 20 years, with a strong track record of performance in tough Australian conditions.

Rural, Safelok and Metric components are all interchangeable as they share a common body.

This reducer fitting connects 1 1/4" (32mm) poly pipe to 1" (25mm) poly pipe, allowing you to step down pipe sizes in your rural water system. Slide the barb ends fully into the poly pipe until they bottom out, then secure both connections with stainless steel hose clamps tightened firmly around the pipe. Ensure the clamps are positioned over the barbed section and tightened evenly to create a watertight seal. Test the connection under pressure to confirm no leaks before burying or finalizing your installation. Tips: Always use stainless steel clamps with barb fittings to prevent rust and corrosion in Queensland's rural environment—galvanised clamps will deteriorate and fail. For easier future disconnections, consider compression or threaded fittings at isolation points; barb fittings are semi-permanent and difficult to remove once installed. This fitting is ideal for reducing flow in pump-fed systems; gravity-fed systems typically use 1" throughout so reducers are less common.

Common Questions

How do I install this reducer fitting?

The insert is self-aligning — simply bring it into the body of the fitting and tighten the nut with a wrench. As you tighten, the nut draws the insert into the body to create a seal. The flat face of the insert lets you tap it into the pipe easily, and since the insert doesn't pass over a seal, there's no risk of damaging it during installation.

Can I take this fitting apart if I need to change or inspect it?

Yes. Philmac Rural fittings disassemble easily — just loosen the nut and remove the insert from the body. You can then free the pipe and reconnect it whenever you're ready by simply inserting the fitting and tightening the nut again.

Will this fitting work with other Philmac components?

Yes. Rural, Safelok and Metric components all share a common body, so they're interchangeable with one another.
