JOINER RURAL REDUCER POLY 1 1/2" (40mm) X 1 1/4"(32mm)PHILMAC 99815400 at a glance

Philmac Rural can be easily disassembled and reconnected simply by loosening the nut and taking the insert out of the body of the fitting.

The pipe can then be freed.

Philmac Rural inserts are self aligning.

Simply bring the insert into the body of the fitting and then tighten the nut with a wrench.

As the nut tightens it will draw the insert into the body of the fitting to create the perfect seal every time.

The flat face of the insert allows the installer to tap it into the pipe with ease.

Because the insert does not need to pass over a seal there is no risk of damaging the seal during installation.

Philmac Rural has been a market leader in Australia for over 20 years, with a strong track record of performance in tough Australian conditions.

Rural, Safelok and Metric components are all interchangeable as they share a common body.

Identify your poly pipe inner diameter (this reducer connects 1 1/2" to 1 1/4" barb connections). Insert the barbed end fully into the poly pipe until the pipe reaches the barb shoulder, then secure with two stainless steel hose clamps (one near the barb end, one further along the pipe). Tighten clamps firmly but do not over-tighten, which can damage the poly pipe. Ensure the system pressure does not exceed 800kPa. Tips: Always use stainless steel clamps with barb fittings to prevent rust and corrosion in Queensland's climate. Check that your poly pipe is clean and free from debris before inserting the barb fitting. For better grip and longevity, slightly warm the poly pipe end in warm water before insertion to make it more flexible.

Common Questions

How do I connect this reducer?

The insert is self-aligning — just bring it into the body of the fitting and tighten the nut with a wrench. As you tighten, the nut draws the insert into the body to create a seal. The flat face of the insert lets you tap it into the pipe easily, and since the insert doesn't pass over a seal, there's no risk of damaging it during installation.

Can I take it apart if I need to?

Yes. Philmac Rural fittings disassemble and reconnect simply by loosening the nut and taking the insert out of the body. The pipe can then be freed.
