JOINER RURAL POLY 2" (50mm) PHILMAC 99816600 at a glance

Philmac Rural can be easily disassembled and reconnected simply by loosening the nut and taking the insert out of the body of the fitting.

The pipe can then be freed.

Philmac Rural inserts are self aligning.

Simply bring the insert into the body of the fitting and then tighten the nut with a wrench.

As the nut tightens it will draw the insert into the body of the fitting to create the perfect seal every time.

The flat face of the insert allows the installer to tap it into the pipe with ease.

Because the insert does not need to pass over a seal there is no risk of damaging the seal during installation.

Philmac Rural has been a market leader in Australia for over 20 years, with a strong track record of performance in tough Australian conditions.

Rural, Safelok and Metric components are all interchangeable as they share a common body.

Ensure the rural poly pipe (green stripe) is cut cleanly and straight using a sharp utility knife or pipe cutter. Insert the pipe firmly into the barb fitting until it reaches the stop, then secure with two stainless steel clamps positioned either side of the barb ridges and tighten evenly. For threaded fittings, wrap thread tape around the male threads 3-4 times clockwise before screwing into the female connector by hand, then tighten with a wrench. Test all connections for leaks under pressure before burying or permanent installation. Tips: Always use stainless steel hose clamps with barb fittings in rural poly systems — galvanised clamps will corrode and fail over time. Store poly fittings and pipe in shade away from direct UV exposure, as rural poly degrades faster in sunlight. For Queensland's variable water pressure, check your system pressure rating (typically 800kPa for rural poly) and choose fitting types accordingly — barb fittings work best for flexible, low-pressure runs while threaded fittings suit connection points.
