JOINER RURAL POLY 1 1/4" (32mm) PHILMAC 99814400 at a glance

Philmac Rural can be easily disassembled and reconnected simply by loosening the nut and taking the insert out of the body of the fitting.

The pipe can then be freed.

Philmac Rural inserts are self aligning.

Simply bring the insert into the body of the fitting and then tighten the nut with a wrench.

As the nut tightens it will draw the insert into the body of the fitting to create the perfect seal every time.

The flat face of the insert allows the installer to tap it into the pipe with ease.

Because the insert does not need to pass over a seal there is no risk of damaging the seal during installation.

Philmac Rural has been a market leader in Australia for over 20 years, with a strong track record of performance in tough Australian conditions.

Rural, Safelok and Metric components are all interchangeable as they share a common body.

Identify your poly pipe inner diameter (this fitting suits 1 1/4" / 32mm pipe). Ensure the pipe end is clean and cut square before insertion. For barb fittings, slide the pipe onto the barb and secure with two stainless steel clamps positioned either side of the barb ridge, tightening evenly. For solvent weld fittings, apply PVC primer and solvent cement to both the fitting socket and pipe end, then insert firmly and hold for 30 seconds while the joint sets. Tips: Always use stainless steel clamps with barb fittings in rural applications to prevent corrosion and ensure long-term reliability. Check your system's maximum pressure rating (rural poly is typically 800kPa) before selecting fitting type, as compression and barb fittings suit lower-pressure gravity systems while threaded fittings work well for pump-fed applications. Keep spare fittings on hand—barb joints can be cut apart and remade easily, making them ideal for repairs on remote properties.
