JOINER RURAL CAP END POLY 2" (50mm) PHILMAC 99806900 at a glance

Philmac Rural can be easily disassembled and reconnected simply by loosening the nut and taking the insert out of the body of the fitting.

The pipe can then be freed.

Philmac Rural inserts are self aligning.

Simply bring the insert into the body of the fitting and then tighten the nut with a wrench.

As the nut tightens it will draw the insert into the body of the fitting to create the perfect seal every time.

The flat face of the insert allows the installer to tap it into the pipe with ease.

Because the insert does not need to pass over a seal there is no risk of damaging the seal during installation.

Philmac Rural has been a market leader in Australia for over 20 years, with a strong track record of performance in tough Australian conditions.

Rural, Safelok and Metric components are all interchangeable as they share a common body.

Slide the 2" (50mm) poly pipe firmly onto the barb end of the CAP END fitting until it reaches the shoulder. Secure the connection using a stainless steel hose clamp positioned just behind the barb, tightening until snug but not over-tight. For a permanent installation, consider using a solvent weld fitting instead. This cap end is ideal for sealing off the end of rural poly pipe runs in farm water systems. Tips: Always use stainless steel clamps with barb fittings to prevent corrosion in Queensland's climate and ensure long-term reliability. Measure your poly pipe's inner diameter carefully — rural poly uses imperial sizing (2" refers to 50mm ID), not metric. If you're capping a pressurised line, verify your system pressure doesn't exceed 800kPa, as this is the rated limit for standard rural green-stripe poly pipe.

Common Questions

How do I install this cap end fitting?

The insert is self-aligning — just bring it into the body of the fitting and tighten the nut with a wrench. As you tighten, the nut draws the insert into the body to create a seal. The flat face of the insert lets you tap it into the pipe easily, and since the insert doesn't pass over a seal, there's no risk of damaging it during installation.

Can I take it apart if I need to reconnect it later?

Yes. Philmac Rural fittings can be disassembled and reconnected simply by loosening the nut and taking the insert out of the body. Once the insert is removed, the pipe can be freed.

Will this fitting work with other brands I already have?

Rural, Safelok and Metric components are all interchangeable as they share a common body, so you can mix and match those brands without issue.

How long has Philmac Rural been around?
