The hexagonal body makes them extremely simple to install. Importantly, Philmac threaded fittings are suitable for working pressures up to PN16 for sizes up to 2”, PN12 for 2-1/2” and PN10 for 3” and 4” sized fittings.

This JOINER REDUCING SOCKET connects 2" (50mm) BSP threaded male fittings to 1 1/4" (32mm) poly pipe. Wrap the male thread with PTFE tape (3-4 wraps) before screwing into the socket to ensure a watertight seal. Tighten firmly by hand, then use an adjustable wrench for a final quarter turn—do not over-tighten as this can crack the poly fitting. Ensure the poly pipe is clean and dry before insertion into the barb end. Tips: Install this fitting at connection points where you need to step down from a larger 2" threaded source (such as a pump outlet or tank valve) to smaller 1 1/4" poly pipe distribution. Use stainless steel hose clamps on the barb end to secure the poly pipe and prevent leaks under pressure. This fitting suits both gravity-fed and pump-fed systems up to 800kPa pressure rating.
