JOINER REDUCING SOCKET BSP 2" (50mm) X 1" (25mm) PHILMAC 90436300 at a glance

Philmac’s robust threaded fittings provide precision BSP tapered threads that have been engineered to maximise sealing performance.

The versatile range is made from high performance, UV resistant polypropylene that does not absorb moisture.

Installation is quick, simple and reliable every time.

The material is also potable water (AS/NZ 4020) approved. (Note: Products marked “Ancillary” are not potable water approved.)

Philmac’s threaded fittings provide maximum versatility, delivering a high performance connection across a wide range of pressure ratings and chemical combinations.

The hexagonal body makes them extremely simple to install. Importantly, Philmac threaded fittings are suitable for working pressures up to PN16 for sizes up to 2”, PN12 for 2-1/2” and PN10 for 3” and 4” sized fittings.

Smart hexagonal design makes the fittings compatible with tools and ensures that Philmac BSP threaded fittings are extremely easy to install.

Philmac threaded fittings are manufactured from high quality materials that ensure strong connections for many years.

The material also has a high degree of UV resistance to ensure long term performance even in direct sunlight.

This 2" x 1" reducing socket connects two different sized poly pipe runs, stepping down from 50mm to 25mm diameter. Insert the barbed ends fully into the poly pipe until the fitting body is flush against the pipe ends, then secure with two stainless steel hose clamps per barb (tightened firmly but not over-tightened). Ensure pipes are cut square and clean before insertion for a watertight seal. This fitting is suitable for rural gravity-fed and pump-fed water systems up to 800kPa. Tips: Always use stainless steel clamps on barb fittings in rural Queensland conditions to prevent rust and corrosion. For a more permanent join, consider solvent weld fittings instead of barb fittings if the connection won't need future disconnection. Test the system under full pressure after installation to ensure all clamps are secure and there are no leaks at the reducing socket.
