JOINER REDUCING SOCKET BSP 1" (25mm) X 3/4" (20mm) PHILMAC 90433200 at a glance

Philmac’s robust threaded fittings provide precision BSP tapered threads that have been engineered to maximise sealing performance.

The versatile range is made from high performance, UV resistant polypropylene that does not absorb moisture.

Installation is quick, simple and reliable every time.

The material is also potable water (AS/NZ 4020) approved. (Note: Products marked “Ancillary” are not potable water approved.)

Philmac’s threaded fittings provide maximum versatility, delivering a high performance connection across a wide range of pressure ratings and chemical combinations.

The hexagonal body makes them extremely simple to install. Importantly, Philmac threaded fittings are suitable for working pressures up to PN16 for sizes up to 2”, PN12 for 2-1/2” and PN10 for 3” and 4” sized fittings.

Smart hexagonal design makes the fittings compatible with tools and ensures that Philmac BSP threaded fittings are extremely easy to install.

Philmac threaded fittings are manufactured from high quality materials that ensure strong connections for many years.

The material also has a high degree of UV resistance to ensure long term performance even in direct sunlight.

This BSP threaded reducing socket connects 1" (25mm) poly pipe to 3/4" (20mm) poly pipe using male threaded connections on both ends. Wrap the male threads with PTFE tape (3-4 wraps) before screwing into the female threaded ports to ensure a watertight seal. Hand-tighten firmly, then use an adjustable wrench for a final quarter-turn—do not over-tighten as this can crack the fitting. Install in the correct flow direction if the fitting is directional, and ensure both pipe sizes are properly cut square before insertion. Tips: Always use this fitting with rural poly pipe rated to at least 800kPa to match the pressure capability of your farm water system. Test the connection for leaks under full system pressure before burying or concealing the fitting. If you're reducing from 1" to 3/4", confirm your downstream pipe and components are rated for the resulting pressure increase in that smaller line.

Common Questions

What's this fitting used for?

It's a reducing socket that joins two different sized BSP threads — 1" (25mm) down to 3/4" (20mm). Handy for connecting pipes or tubing of different diameters in your system.

Is it safe for drinking water?

Yes, it's potable water approved to AS/NZ 4020, so it's suitable for use in systems carrying drinking water.

How do I install it?

The hexagonal body design makes it simple — you can tighten it with a spanner or wrench. Just thread it onto the matching BSP threads and tighten up. Installation is quick and reliable.

Will it hold up outdoors?

Yes. It's made from UV resistant polypropylene, so it won't degrade in direct sunlight and will perform well over the long term, even in outdoor conditions.

What pressure can it handle?

This size fitting is suitable for working pressures up to PN16. Check your system requirements to make sure it matches what you need.
