The hexagonal body makes them extremely simple to install. Importantly, Philmac threaded fittings are suitable for working pressures up to PN16 for sizes up to 2”, PN12 for 2-1/2” and PN10 for 3” and 4” sized fittings.

This joiner nipple reducer connects two poly pipes of different sizes (2" down to 1¼") using BSP threaded connections on both ends. Wrap the male threads with PTFE tape (3-4 wraps) before screwing into the female threaded socket to create a watertight seal. Tighten firmly by hand, then use a spanner to snug an additional half-turn — do not over-tighten as this can strip the threads. Ensure the pipe ends are clean and cut square before inserting into the fitting. Tips: Position the reducer where you can easily access both connection points for installation and future maintenance. This fitting is ideal for transitioning from larger supply pipes down to smaller distribution lines in pump-fed systems. Always use stainless steel hose clamps if you're using barb-end adapters with this fitting, and check that your system pressure doesn't exceed 800kPa to avoid leaks.
