JOINER NIPPLE REDUCER BSP 1 3/4” (32mm) X 1/4" (20mm) PHILMAC 90424200 at a glance

Philmac’s robust threaded fittings provide precision BSP tapered threads that have been engineered to maximise sealing performance.

The versatile range is made from high performance, UV resistant polypropylene that does not absorb moisture.

Installation is quick, simple and reliable every time.

The material is also potable water (AS/NZ 4020) approved. (Note: Products marked “Ancillary” are not potable water approved.)

Philmac’s threaded fittings provide maximum versatility, delivering a high performance connection across a wide range of pressure ratings and chemical combinations.

The hexagonal body makes them extremely simple to install. Importantly, Philmac threaded fittings are suitable for working pressures up to PN16 for sizes up to 2”, PN12 for 2-1/2” and PN10 for 3” and 4” sized fittings.

Smart hexagonal design makes the fittings compatible with tools and ensures that Philmac BSP threaded fittings are extremely easy to install.

Philmac threaded fittings are manufactured from high quality materials that ensure strong connections for many years.

The material also has a high degree of UV resistance to ensure long term performance even in direct sunlight.

This joiner nipple reducer connects two poly pipes of different sizes (1 3/4" to 1/4") using threaded BSP connections. Apply thread seal tape (PTFE tape) to the male threads before screwing into the female threaded fittings on your poly pipe, turning clockwise until hand-tight then using a spanner for a final quarter turn. Ensure the fitting is properly seated to prevent leaks under pressure. This fitting is suitable for rural water systems up to 800kPa. Tips: Use this threaded nipple reducer at connection points where you need to join different diameter pipes, such as tapering down to a smaller outlet or gauge line. Always use two spanners when tightening—one to hold the fitting body and one on the nut—to avoid twisting and cracking the poly fitting. Inspect the fitting regularly for weeping, especially in high-pressure pump-fed systems.
