JOINER NIPPLE REDUCER BSP 1 3/4” (32mm) X 1/2" (15mm)PHILMAC 90424100 at a glance

Philmac’s robust threaded fittings provide precision BSP tapered threads that have been engineered to maximise sealing performance.

The versatile range is made from high performance, UV resistant polypropylene that does not absorb moisture.

Installation is quick, simple and reliable every time.

The material is also potable water (AS/NZ 4020) approved. (Note: Products marked “Ancillary” are not potable water approved.)

Philmac’s threaded fittings provide maximum versatility, delivering a high performance connection across a wide range of pressure ratings and chemical combinations.

The hexagonal body makes them extremely simple to install. Importantly, Philmac threaded fittings are suitable for working pressures up to PN16 for sizes up to 2”, PN12 for 2-1/2” and PN10 for 3” and 4” sized fittings.

Smart hexagonal design makes the fittings compatible with tools and ensures that Philmac BSP threaded fittings are extremely easy to install.

Philmac threaded fittings are manufactured from high quality materials that ensure strong connections for many years.

The material also has a high degree of UV resistance to ensure long term performance even in direct sunlight.

This joiner nipple reducer connects two poly pipes of different sizes (1 3/4" to 1/2") using BSP threaded connections. Wrap the male threads with PTFE tape (3-4 wraps) to ensure a watertight seal, then hand-tighten the fitting onto each pipe end before using a wrench for final tightening. Avoid over-tightening as this can crack poly fittings. Install with the reducer positioned to minimize stress on the pipe joints. Tips: Always check your pipe inner diameter before ordering—rural poly sizing uses imperial measurements (1/2", 3/4", 1", 1.25", 1.5", 2") not metric. For permanent installations in gravity-fed systems, consider solvent weld fittings instead; threaded BSP fittings work best at connection points where future access may be needed. Keep stainless steel clamps on hand if you're also using barb fittings elsewhere in your system.
