The hexagonal body makes them extremely simple to install. Importantly, Philmac threaded fittings are suitable for working pressures up to PN16 for sizes up to 2”, PN12 for 2-1/2” and PN10 for 3” and 4” sized fittings.

Smart hexagonal design makes the fittings compatible with tools and ensures that Philmac BSP threaded fittings are extremely easy to install.

This reducing nipple joins two female BSP-threaded fittings of different sizes – 3/4" (20mm) on one end and 1/2" (15mm) on the other. Wrap PTFE thread-seal tape around each male thread (3–4 turns in the direction of tightening), then screw each end into its matching female BSP fitting. Hand-tighten first, then nip up with a spanner on the hex body – do not over-tighten, as this can crack the fitting. Tips: The nipple reduces from 3/4" to 1/2", so use the correct-size female fitting on each end. The tapered BSP thread does the sealing with PTFE tape or a suitable thread sealant – no hose clamp is used. Check the joint for weeping once the system is pressurised.
