The hexagonal body makes them extremely simple to install. Importantly, Philmac threaded fittings are suitable for working pressures up to PN16 for sizes up to 2”, PN12 for 2-1/2” and PN10 for 3” and 4” sized fittings.

Smart hexagonal design makes the fittings compatible with tools and ensures that Philmac BSP threaded fittings are extremely easy to install.

This joiner nipple reducer connects two lengths of rural poly pipe with different diameters (1" to 1/2"), allowing water to flow between larger and smaller pipe sections. Insert the barbed ends firmly into the poly pipe until fully seated, ensuring the pipe is cut cleanly and straight. Secure both connections with two stainless steel hose clamps per barb, tightening evenly to create a watertight seal without over-tightening and damaging the pipe. Tips: Soak the poly pipe in warm water for a few minutes before insertion to soften it slightly, making fitting assembly easier and more reliable. Always use stainless steel clamps with barb fittings in rural applications to prevent rust and corrosion, especially in outdoor or high-moisture environments. Check that your poly pipe is genuine rural-grade with a green stripe and rated to 800kPa to ensure safe operation at your system's working pressure.
